Scott Jessee said his favorite story is his own – “how a poor hillbilly kid from Bristol could grow up, join the Air Force, see 27 countries, have great kids, and a wonderful wife who keeps pushing me to achieve my goals.” Jessee is the inventor of Swing Reminders, a collection of small tokens for golfers to keep in their pockets to remind them of the aspects of their game they want to improve.
“I had a dream to develop a golf training aid,” Jessee said. “Turned out to be Swing Reminders golf tip tokens. Plus, I've had the golf club repair business going for awhile.”
All golfers are looking for that one thing to help them improve their games, Jessee said.
“For years I carried a small piece of paper in my right pocket when playing golf. I would write a swing thought or two on the paper. Something to keep me thinking about simple swing thoughts, instead of letting my head go nuts and think about too many things. While you’re still learning or re-learning a technique swing reminders tokens helps by providing simple tips to keep you focused.”
Jesse said the most difficult challenge he faced getting started was finding funding. But, he said he sought counseling and his local Small Business Development Center helped him overcome the hurdles. He said his proudest moment came when he launched his website.
