The Fourth Annual Run Around the Lake – Run for Wounded Warriors event brought in a record $21,660 donation in support of the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). This represents an increase of more than 73 percent compared to the previous record of $12,512 in 2009.
NaVOBA member J. M. Waller Associates (JMWA), Inc., Halfaker and Associates, LLC and tripol-E covered the entire cost of the event, ensuring that 100 percent of the $21,660 raised goes directly to the WWP’s mission to honor and empower injured service men and women.
A record number of 406 runners and 60 donors combined to form the largest field in the event’s four-year history. Representatives from WWP participated in the run, and were on hand for a post-run ceremony that included a check presentation to wounded warriors following the event. The companies presented the final donations to WWP on Monday, November 01, 2010.
