In a race that's garnenerd national attention in recent weeks, Congressman Joe Sestak (D-Pa.) defeated five-time Sen. Arlen Specter (D-Pa.) in Pennsylvania's Democratic Senate primary Tuesday, May 18.

Sestak, who retired after 31 years of service with the U.S. Navy and the highest ranking veteran ever elected to congress as a three-star admiral, was virtally unknown compared to his rival, Specter. Sestak is currently serving his second term representing Pennsylvania's 7th District in the U.S. House of Representatives and continues his bid to the Senate with Tuesday's victory.
