VOY Lands Major Contract

Wellington, Fla., based Source One Distributors, Inc was named by the U.S. Defense Logistics Agency’s Defense Supply Center Philadelphia as a prime contractor for the Special Operational Equipment Tailored Logistics Support Program. Source One as well as three other companies will supply all branches of the military and several federal agencies with special operational equipment. The total contract has a maximum dollar value of $5.7 billion over the next five years and Source One could see a maximum of $487,799,322 of that total.

Source One’s CEO and 2009 Vetrepreneur of the Year Mark Llano said he’s excited about the opportunity.

"It is definetly the real deal," Llano said. "We’ve been working for four years to make this happen."

Randy Webb, chief operations officer for Source One said the firm plans to use this opportunity to do more business with other vetrepreneurs and hire some more vets as well.

"This has put us in a position where we’ll be able to hire as many as 20 more people over the next 12 to 18 months," Webb said. "We’ve always made an effort to do as much business with veterans and hire more veterans whenever possible. We set a goal for one-third of those new hires to be vets. It would be great if half were veterans."
