Reel Stories, Real Heroes

 

The GI Film Festival invites military service personnel, veterans, their families, entertainment industry executives and the public to the First Annual GI Film Festival Hollywood on Friday, Nov. 9 and Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012, at the Los Angeles Film School, 6363 Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood, Calif. The event will feature two industry award receptions, panel/Q&A discussions, several film premiers and industry networking opportunities with celebrities and industry executives. Proceeds from the Saturday night auction will benefit the GI Film Festival, which preserves the stories of American veterans, and the Semper Fi Fund, which provides financial support to wounded Marines and their families. 

"All films premiering during our event highlight the successes and sacrifices of American military service personnel and the worldwide struggle for liberty and democracy. Each film submissions has at least one main real or fictitious character serving or have served in the U.S. military who is depicted with respect," said Brandon Millett, co-founder, GI Film Festival. "As a leading member of the Ambassadors of Hollywood Support Tour, actress Christy Carlson Romano will be honored during our kick-off reception this Friday. In addition, the growing list of celebrity appearances this year at the GI Film Festival in Hollywood also includes Actors Dale Dye and David James Elliott.

Friday, Nov. 9
7 p.m to 8 p.m. - Event Kick-off Dinner & Awards Ceremony Honoring Actress Christy Carlson Romano 
8:30 p.m to 10:30 p.m. - Hollywood film premier of "The Red Machine", a spy thriller set in pre-war Washington, D.C. 


Saturday, Nov. 10
12:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. - Panel discussions & film screenings 
8:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. - Third Annual Salute Honoring & Employing Veterans In Entertainment, dinner reception & auction 

Film festival admission prices start at $12 per person. Military service members and veterans receive a 50 percent discount.
